Important Things For Upcoming 6th Graders!

6th Grade Boot Camp
Thursday, August 1st, 5:00 to 6:30PM

  1. Parents and students can sign up for REMIND now!
    1. Text @scmath19 to the number 81010.
    2. If you have trouble texting the number 81010, you can try texting @scmath19 to 865 – 686 – 6786.


  2. Your PowerSchool username & password are very important.
    1. You will use PowerSchool weekly to check grades & attendance.
    2. PowerSchool website:


  3. Core Subjects
    1. Math:Homework every Monday & Wednesday night.Tests every Friday.Uses IXL for weekly practice and mastery connect for weekly assessments.
    2. ELA:Uses google classroom for most assignments.
    3. Science: Students will create an interactive notebook that stays in the classroom.
    4. Social Studies:Uses google classroom for most assignments.
    5. Canvas will be used in all classes to access various materials.


  4. Important Upcoming Dates
    1. May 13th:NHCE 5th graders visit Sale Creek, 9:00 – 10:30 a.m.
    2. May 13th:Sale Creek School STEM Night, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
    3. August 1st:6th Grade Boot Camp, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.


  5. Student lockers have built in locks, but it is a good idea to buy a cheap combination lock to practice with over the summer.

    3. Students will have all important daily used websites bookmarked on their chromebooks (school website, powerschool, canvas, mastery connect, google classroom, IXL, discovery education).


  7. Sports physical is required to try out or participate in any school sport and must be dated after April 15, 2019 in order to be used for the 2019 – 2020 school year.


  8. School times are 7:15 – 2:15.Drop off begins daily at 6:45.Students must be picked up no later than 2:30.

Items to turn in to Dr. Brady, Mrs. Schultz, Mr. Moss, or Mrs. K. Harris:

1 box Kleenex

1 roll paper towels

Antibacterial hand sanitizer

Disinfectant wipes

1 ream of copy paper

1 pack loose leaf wide ruled paper

24 pack non-mechanical pencils

1 bag individually wrapped candy (no peanuts)

2 glue sticks

1 pack dry erase markers

Items for student to keep with them and bring to every class:

Trapper keeper or one 2” three-ring binder  

     to use for all classes

1 pack of 5 dividers

1 pack loose leaf wide ruled paper


1 subject spiral notebook for science

   (give to Mrs. Schultz to leave in science classroom)

1 subject spiral notebook for math

   (give to Mrs. K. Harris to leave in math classroom )

TI-15 calculator (optional-leave at home to use

      with math homework)

Required book for summer reading:

Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt (available at the school in May)

*The second required book for summer reading is any book of your choice.
