Jordan Alazzam receives Rookie Firefighter of the Year award

Cadet Captain Jordan Alazzam is the commander of Echo Company at Sale Creek High School Panther Battalion in Hamilton County, TN (Chattanooga area).  In February, Jordan was recognized by former FEMA Director and Fire Chief Tony Reavley for his selfless contributions and awarded “Rookie Firefighter of the Year”. The award was voted on by all the fire department chiefs across the area, and was a great honor to a very deserving young man.

Jordan is no stranger to volunteer work.  He has logged over 500 hours of community service and service learning over the past year alone while volunteering at the Sale Creek Fire Department and leading his company service learning project (canned food drive for the local food bank).  He also helped orchestrate a local waterway clean up at the Soddy Gulf in Soddy Daisy this school year.

Jordan maintains a high GPA, and was selected to attend TN Boys State last summer.  He has helped keep Sale Creek JROTC maintain an “Honor Unit with Distinction” status.  Always the role model, Mr. Alazzam’s hard work, dedication, and achievements in school and across the community will certainly carry on to his college this fall while studying fire safety management.  He will make an outstanding 7th Brigade “Cadet of the Month”.
