Hixson High School has earned the first College Board AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award for achieving high female representation in AP Computer Science Principles. Schools honored with the AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award have expanded girls’ access in AP Computer Science courses.

The first day of school is important for students of all ages- whether it be the first day of Kindergarten or the first day of Senior Year.

The Hixson High AFJROTC Cadets have a program available to them called Cyber Generations.

This school year, Hamilton County Department of Education partnered with State of Tennessee Vocational Rehabilitation and BCBST to create an internship program for students with intellectual disabilities called Project SEARCH.

Dr. Bryan Johnson recently hosted a banquet honoring the top 10 percent of graduating seniors from each Hamilton County high school.

As part of her visit to Hamilton County Schools, the Tennessee Education Commissioner, Dr. Penny Schwinn, stopped by Hixson High School on Friday, March 8 for a tour of several of their Future Ready Institute classrooms.

Sierra Downing, a first grade teacher at Middle Valley Elementary School, was recently selected to receive a Lowe's Toolbox for Education grant from the Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation in the amount of $5,000.00
